For example, if you see something like 3(2 + 4), with a little basic math you can see that the answer is 3(6) or 18. The most important concept to master is that when you’re faced with an equation such as **x = 2x + 4**, you can do just about anything to any side of the equation – as long as you remember to do exactly the same thing to the entire other side of the equation.
