A: We do not have a dedicated shelter. Most of our dogs live in foster homes or at a daycare/boarding facility in Lincoln Park while they are waiting for their forever homes. This setup allows us to truly get to know each dog in our care to appropriately match them with people looking to adopt!
Q: Are you looking for foster homes?
A: ALWAYS!! PRC will provide everything you need to foster! Fill out our application, specify “foster” and we’ll find the right match who needs your help! **PLEASE NOTE: We have to limit where our foster homes are located in order to provide the essential support foster homes and dogs will need!***
Q: Can I visit?
A: Absolutely! Since all of our dogs are not at one central location, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule a time if you would like to meet a dog.
Q: Where do your dogs come from?
A: Most of our dogs come from Animal Welfare League or from one of the many, many high kill animal control facilities in IL and IN.
Q: How much time do the dogs spend with PRC?
A: This depends on the condition of the dog when when he/she is admitted to our rescue. Lots of the dogs we take in are social, happy, healthy, fully vaccinated and ready to be adopted. Sometimes, we take in dogs who need a little time before they are ready for their forever home.
Q: Can I take the dog home the day I meet him?
A: No. It is our policy to do a home visit for every dog. Depending on scheduling, we can sometimes combine the home visit with the introduction. We don’t want anyone to adopt based solely on emotion, so we try to take at least a night to think things through.
